Dear JI Parents,
The winter season is soon officially here, and that means a Christmas program is just around the corner. You might even be hearing at home mini-concerts by some of the youngsters as they learn a new verse or melody to a song for church, for a holiday, or for the performance. I hope you enjoy the sneak preview.
Attached to my web page will be the songs texts your children will be performing for the program. If a child will spend 10 minutes each day reviewing those song texts, their performance confidence is sure to grow. By reducing the handouts for home, we will also save a tree. Your support will be appreciated
I hope this list of information about the program will answer some of the questions you might have.
- The programs are Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.!
- Children are expected to be at both performances.
- Dress for the programs is ‘Sunday Best’. This might mean that children will need to bring those clothes to school for the program and change into them after lunch.
- The JI Children’s Choir will also perform at this event. Their dress for this event is ‘Sunday Best’ as well.
- For the evening program, students are to be in their classrooms no later than 6:40 p.m. dressed for the program.
- Kindergarten and 2nd grade parents with questions about the Toyland music costumes are welcome to visit with me at conferences this week and next.
- The Christmas Program presentation will include three sections in this order:
- A secular Christmas section of songs by all grades
- The JI Band selections and soloists
- The Christmas Story told in narration and song by all grades
I am excited about the program and am so pleased with the careful preparation your children’s classes.
Footnote: The JI choir will also be singing for the 4:00 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve. As of this date, sixteen choir members have made the commitment to sing. I will send home a more detailed note after Thanksgiving.
Thank you for all you do for your children. I truly am blessed to be part of the staff atJohnIrelandSchool.
Sincerely,
Barbara Murphy Frank
