Computer Classes at John Ireland School are well under way. We have been very busy this year and we were very lucky to have a new Smartboard as an addition to our lab which has been used by all the students. They love it!
The Kindergarten has been introduced to the world of Technology through our new Smartboard and learing their way around a computer.
First Grade has been working on improving Keyboarding skills along with learning new things and working with our Smartboard as well.
Our Second and Third Graders have been introduced to Microsoft Word have created documents and projects.
Third Graders are currently working on a Word Project to go along with their Science Projects.
Fourth Grade is doing an outstanding job with PowerPoint, each student has created a presentation on one of the 50 States. They will also be using the research they gathered in Microsoft Word to be involved in “The Great Mail Race”.
Fifth Grade created detailed PowerPoints on our government,its’s branches and how they work together.
Sixth Grade explored and researched Natural Disasters and their similarities along with their effect on us and turned out great PowerPoints. They will soon be ready to create Faux Christmas Shopping lists and costs etc through EXCEL. Lots more to come. !

JISC Meeting Minutes

April 2, 2012

The meeting was called to order at 11:40 a.m. Attendance was taken and no one was absent. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer‘s report was read. We have $2,981.86.

Old Business

Mrs. Lynch has purchased the necessary things for the Happy Mail for the Military project. The supplies cost $47.19. We will need posters to remind the students to write the cards and letters to the soldiers. Captains for the posters are Bailey, Lydia, and Kylie. Mrs. Lynch will speak to the students at Wednesday All – School Prayer about the project. The project will start on April 10^th.

New Business

The next meeting will be April 23^rd. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 11:55 a.m.
